Butterfly Wings

I had been anticipating attending a special wedding for over a year.  After surgery, I faithfully worked on physical therapy exercises to be able to achieve this goal.

My son and I entered the venue and I was mesmerized by the gracious innocence of a 2-year-old flower girl kneeling.  She was wearing butterfly wings over her beautiful white gown.  In her golden hair were strands of multicolored flowers.  I reached for my cell phone to capture her gracefulness. I instantly shivered and got tiny  goosebumps all over my skin.

In that moment, I didn’t hear the loud barrage of noise in the background of the venue. I only heard and felt peaceful silence. God revealed to me why my endurance to attend had been granted…to be touched by a butterfly angel. I felt love surround me in new levels with overflowing innocence and pureness.

Love can be understood and learned more clearly through children. I also noticed a glowing, mutual love between the bride and groom. I thought of when Piglet asked Winnie the Pooh, “How do you spell love?”  Pooh responded, ” You don’t spell it, you feel it.”

I agree with Pooh. You have to be in tune with your surroundings to feel love.

Continuing to watch this little butterfly angel, I was reminded of a quote: Fall on your knees and grow there, because when life gives you more than you can stand… kneel and pray.

May you be touched by love in numerous ways, today and every day.

Until next time with more Sweet Conclusions,
