This weekend we took a hiking trail through part of Sibley State Park that lead us to Mount Tom. At the top of Mount Tom Tower you are at the highest point within a 50-mile radius. The view is a patchwork of forest, farmland, prairie knolls, and lakes. Sibley State Park and Mount Tom are located in the north-central part of Kandiyohi County. Kandiyohi is a Dakota word meaning “lakes.” Needless to say, this county lives up to its name with 361 lakes, or a lake for about every 2 square miles of area. The park is named for Henry Hasting Sibley, the first governor of Minnesota.

We were one with nature again during the trails in Sibley State Park
This morning we met with the Community Education director at the Litchfield High School Little Theater. This is where Gavin’s children’s theater production, William Gray and The Family Next Door, will be presented on Thursday, July 26th at 4 pm. This is open to the public.
Gavin hung the background scene drops. This is a start to getting ready for the area youth to arrive in one week to learn about theater and start their acting debuts.
Now we are off to enjoy the sunshine and do some grilling for supper.
